How to Get the Strava Overlay Without a Background Box

Thousands of runners search for 'how to get the Strava overlay' or 'how to do the Strava overlay' because the clean white distance, pace, and time statistics paired with the orange GPS route vector look incredible over workout photos.

With our free Transparent Strava Overlay Generator, you don't need to crop screenshots or deal with opaque black cards. You can also calculate your exact splits first using our Strava Run Pace Calculator and then export a pure alpha-channel PNG Strava photo overlay that saves directly to your camera roll.

• How to do the Strava overlay: Draw any route on the free running route generator or pick a preset city loop.
• Customize your Strava graphics: Set your exact distance (km), pace (/km), and elapsed time.
• How to save Strava overlay: Click 'Download Transparent Story PNG' on the Strava Photo Overlay page to save the transparent image to your iPhone or Android gallery.
• Add to Instagram or TikTok: Open Instagram Stories, choose your photo, tap the Sticker tray -> 'Add Photo', and select your saved Strava overlay.

What Font Is the Strava Font Used on Overlays and Graphics?

If you are designing custom Strava graphics or editing running videos in CapCut, Canva, or Premiere Pro, you might wonder what the official Strava font is. Strava's brand refresh introduced a custom display typeface called 'Boathouse' alongside 'Maison Neue' and clean geometric sans-serif numerals.

For web and transparent PNG overlays, our Strava Graphics Studio uses 'Inter Black' (weight 900) with tight letter-spacing (-0.8px) and tabular-numeral alignment to produce the exact bold, high-contrast athletic stat look used on modern story stickers.
